BIOGRAPHY
Combine the quality of classic family groups from the
thrilling early years of gospel music with a modern
American family that is gifted to serve, and you have
discovered the exciting ministry of The Quicks. This
vintage modern style in their music and presentation
merges to share the incredible love of Christ through
what they sing and what they have lived.
Tim and
Sally founded The Quicks Ministries, along with their
daughters Rachel and Rebecca, in 1999 at Eglin Air Force
Base, Florida. For over twenty-two years, Tim and Sally
have continued to pursue reaching the world with the
gospel through live performances, television
appearances, and radio, with a successful charting
history from their contributions to radio. Tim and Sally
are now joined by their daughter Rebecca.
After Tim retired from the Air Force
in 2002, the family moved to Tennessee and began their
professional recording career in Nashville. The Quicks’
first CD, the traditionally Southern Gospel "Something
Old, Something New," and the adventurous follow up
project, "What are You Waiting For!" established the
foundation for the unique harmonies that would become
the “Quick” Style.
In 2006,
the quartet narrowed to a trio after the marriage of the
oldest Quick daughter Rachel but continued their mission
with their third national recording, "The Word is Out."
This album propelled the trio to another level of
evangelism with a collection of songs that speak to both
young and old alike. Their single “The Word is Out” was
an online radio 2007 song of the year.
Released in the fall of 2010, "The
Quicks – Hymns," produced by group members Sally Quick
and Rebecca Quick Greer, was a labor of love taking over two
years to complete. After the unexpected loss of Tim and
Sally’s first grandchild in October 2009, the family
considered closing down the ministry as they reeled from
the weight of the grief. Tim, Sally, and Rebecca made a
decision to finish the hymn project they had begun,
which proved to be one of the most important decisions
of their years in ministry. Through the
course of the recording process, they felt God’s love
and sufficient grace carrying them through a progressive
healing time. As God continued to do what He does best,
the family not only found the strength to continue, but
a new passion sparked in each of their hearts that is
now an unquenchable resolve to sing and tell of His
great love.
The musical blend of this group is
mirrored by a closeness in their daily walk with the
Lord and with each other. This is a hard-working family
that functions as a unit, yet is still free to express
their own unique personalities. Paul Heil of The Gospel
Greats has described The Quicks as a “young energetic
family with close harmony, commitment to God, and strong
lyrics.” Listeners will experience a fresh approach with
original songs, gospel classics, and hymns of the
church. Learn about the God this family has chosen to
serve and understand how they continue trusting and
believing in Him and can truly say, “It’s a Wonderful
Life… of Ministry!”
MEMBERS
TIM QUICK
Head of the group and lead singer is Tim Quick. Tim
began getting involved in music through the marching
band in Junior high school. He continued to build his
interest in music through his high school years with the
band and was a featured soloist on Trombone. It was
during this time that Tim began singing with the
Sunshine Singers, a group of talented youth from church.
Tim became a Christian at the age of eleven at a
city-wide revival and his love for the church was
evident in his music.
Tim has a very energetic personality
and a wonderful sense of humor. Audiences are delighted
by his ability to energize a song such as the family’s
first radio single, “He Can Move the Water.” It is that
same energy that helped to see their first release make
the Singing News Charts in 2005. Diagnosed with a
genetic lung disease in the year 2000, Tim has a
stirring testimony of the sufficient grace of God! He
proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring
as a Technical Sergeant after 20 years. When you meet
Tim Quick, you’ve met a friend for life.
SALLY QUICK
Alto Singer for The Quicks is Tim’s wife, Sally. She is
tremendously devoted to standing by Tim – together they
have worked to raise their daughters, Rachel and
Rebecca, in a loving Christian home. Her deep love for
her family is fostered further by her deep love for God,
which led her to Gospel music and singing God’s song
when she was very young. At the age of four, she
received a guitar as a gift, and as she puts it, was
soon “eat up” with music! Her passion for music merged
with her love for the Lord and His Word when she began
to write Gospel music at only 13 years of age.
Her smooth rich alto voice helps
provide the foundation for the “Quick” sound. One of the
most promising songwriters in the industry today, Sally
has a long history of penning songs that encourage,
comfort, and reassure people of God’s love. Sally writes
most of the music you will hear from this family
including their Top 40 radio release, “It’s a Sure
Thing,” found on their CD, What Are You Waiting For! and
“The Word is Out” from the recording of the same title.
REBECCA
GREER
Rebecca is one of the biggest Southern Gospel
Music fans you will ever meet but you could say the
feeling is mutual. In 2007, Rebecca was within the Top
10 nominees for the Southern Gospel Music’s 2007
Favorite Young Artist Award. Rebecca’s genuine love for
Gospel music led her to begin singing at an early age.
The first to be chosen All-State from her Middle School
to leading worship at Alpha/Omega College Ministries,
the passion the Lord sparked in her for ministering to
others through music is unstoppable. Rebecca graduated
from Middle Tennessee State University in May 2011 with
a degree in Music Business. Two months later, Rebecca
married God’s perfect choice for her, Justin Greer.
